304L stainless steel

304L belongs to the American Standard austenitic stainless steel, the implementation standard: ASTM A 959-2004.

304L is a variant of 304 stainless steel with lower carbon content. The lower carbon content minimizes the precipitation of carbides in the heat-affected zone near the weld, and the precipitation of carbides may cause stainless steel to be produced in some environments Intergranular corrosion (welding corrosion).

304L stainless steel can inhibit the sensitization caused by the precipitation of chromium carbide between 500 and 900oC, and improve the sensitivity of intergranular corrosion caused by welding, so it is suitable for direct use after welding.
